Supta Baddha Konasana (Reclined Bound Angle Pose) is a deeply restorative yoga posture. By combining a gentle hip stretch with a supported, supine position, it encourages stress relief, stimulates circulation, and relaxes the nervous system. How to Practice Start Seated: Sit on your mat with your legs extended in front of you. Bring Feet Together: Bend your knees and draw the soles of your feet together. Slide your heels as close to your pelvis as comfortably possible. Recline: Using your hands for support, slowly lower your torso down onto the mat. Rest your shoulders and head flat.Open the Knees: Allow your knees to drop open to the sides, letting gravity deepen the groin and inner-thigh stretch. Rest Your Arms: Place your arms a few inches away from your torso with your palms facing upward. Close your eyes and breathe deeply.Release: Hold the pose for 1 to 5 minutes. To exit, use your hands to gently guide your knees back together, roll to one side, and press up to a seated position.
Gently stretches the inner thighs, groins, and knees. Stimulates abdominal organs, including the bladder, kidneys, and ovaries. Alleviates symptoms of stress, mild depression, menstrual discomfort, and menopause. Induces a state of relaxation helpful for combating insomnia.
